Microsleep While Eating
A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi guys been awhile since I've posted. I've had increasing trouble swallowing while eating, I thought it was something else like muscle weakness from a neuro issue or something. But now I'm thinking maybe it's narcolepsy microsleep episodes. I haven't started any treatment yet because I have trouble swallowing (pills especially) but I need to try treatment because I'm going to literally starve to death if I keep having these issues while eating. Here is what it feels like, 1st I'm tired all the… read more

Biofeedback Headbands
A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question đź’

Has anyone had experience or know about biofeedback headbands that monitor sleep cycles and provide binaural beats that can help regulate sleep cycles? I came across an article about a Colorado engineer that developed a device foe his teenage daughter that was diagnosed with narcolepsy. He marketed the device under the name Sleep Shepherd Blue. I started trying to find the device and came across another called Dreem. Seems that both devices were purchased and removed from the market by someone… read more

Diagnose Of Narcolepsy
A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi everyone, I haven't had time to check into seeing about my sleep study that my doctor wanted me to do after I told him my medication after 16 years doesn't do as well. He is a family practitioner and doesn't know that much about narcolepsy and told me to go get another sleep study done. The more I research about sleep studies the more scared I become. I've seen where some are not accurate. And another thing I dont think I can go without my anxiety medication and we have to stop all… read more

I don't know - selecting people for my "team" seems playing favorites with people I don't know. That seems weird to me.

How To Get A New Doctor After A Move To New State To Prescribe You Medication You’ve Been Prescribed To For The Last 21 Years?
A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question đź’

Diagnosed with narcolepsy 21 years ago. Moved to a new state. Had to apply for Medicaid which took time but once approved I finally was able to get into a sleep doctor. I’ve brought with me documentation of every prescription I’ve been provided for the past 21 years. Yet she refuses to prescribe me the medicine I need to survive until another sleep study is performed. She knows I only have 3 pills left. She said she would expedite the sleep study however as soon as they can get me in is… read more
