I don't think medication can cause it, but depending on the medication it definitively can make it more severe or extreme. Once diagnosed insurance, doctors, pharmacy, and their staff will crosscheck and ask about all otc and prescription drugs and then if there are reactions the doctor will find another med to use.

I don’t think that the medications or combination of medications can cause narcolepsy. But I do believe that if you have narcolepsy, that certain medications and/or combinations could certainly make your situation worse.

Kat - yes heredity is true. I guess a gene will prove it. I noticed some articles can say one thing and others another. It's how words are put together. I have been up on it for years and have noticed.

They also say it could be hereditary and could have outlying reasons. They don’t know the exact cause.
