Occasional Issues Passing Out After Meals?
A MyNarcolepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anybody else experienced issues passing out after eating? Or issues after eating a high-carb meal?

Always always always. Before I was diagnosed, I stopped eating during the day altogether. I would eat a huge dinner after I had no other things to do. I'm not saying that's a good thing to try... But to answer your question, food is always a trigger for me!

I found that eating high carb is a trigger, so I save heavier meals for dinner. I try to focus on higher protein during the day when I have to work. It is not perfect, but helps me and I take that as a win!

It works the only problem with that is that in the long run you could get stomach ulcers or Gastritis. Of course this takes alot of years of doing that to have consequences. I use to fast alot all day too and now I have alot of issues.

I drink a 30g protein shake when I wake up then nothing else until dinner. People generally have strong opinions.on this because it's not the norm and alot if disappointed friends/cancelled plans etc.because I don't eat with/ or at the same time as everyone else. Just makes me even more sleepy, so I put off eating until I think my day is finished.

It is my number 1 or 2 most frequent problem with this condition. For me I need to take my medicine before eating by at least 30 minutes, (Adderall) any time shorter and it is ineffective.💤
Usually you are not even hungry then, but you should eat anyway.
