I am lucky enough to only experience cataplexy a handful times a year. So I don't try to medicate for it

I take venlafaxine for depression and I found that it also helped a lot with my cataplexy symptoms. At higher doses I did noticed increased suicidal ideation, which can be an unintended side effect of the drug. Usually this side effect is most prevalent in children and young adults (age 18-24) taking the drug. For reference, Iā€™m 22.
