Where you dont fall asleep but have no ability to focus, hear, or comprehend. It only lasts minutes but it takes a min or two to shake it off

I have been experiencing this as well. I usually start to stare uncontrollably; I feel like I am not present at the time. It lasts for about a minute. Does anyone else experience this?

Yes, I'm developing it more and more. I'm trying to tell myself, out loud, what I should be getting in the other room, in order not to forget it. and then I stand there, saying the word, again, and again, and no meaning passes through.

Yes, absolutely sounds like what happens to me & often! I have wondered for a long time (and still not sure) if this has anything to do with cataplexy?

Yes, I do the same thing! I usually start with the uncontrolling stare. I also can't remember anything!!!

I just started "suttering" a few years ago. My daughter has to tell me to take a deep breath and relax. I did not realize it could have to do with my Narcolepsy. I do get overwhelmed more now though. LOL
I am going to let my daughter know this so she can relax more.
