I can only say when I'm losing weight naturally ie decreased portions sizes, fresh vegetables, walking...I experience a very noticeable increase in stamina with increases wakefulness. Not only the increase but also the desire. I can not seem to stay this course though.
I do intermitting fasting I eat in the evenings because eating brings on my narcolepsy so I find eating late is the best time for me and fasting keeps my weight down.
For me I have tried a few different things. Gluten free was helpful for a lot of different things and it seemed to help the narcolepsy also. As strange as it sounds limiting caffeine later in the day helps also. I think a lot is finding a routine that is best for you and trying to stick to it. Healthy eating helps most anyone no matter their health conditions. Sadly, I have multiple different things going on so one helpful thing doesn't always work well with all the health aspects... certain diets like keto, paleo, etc. will help for me in one part but sometimes make others worse. It is so hard at times. A food journal as you do changes and keeping track of the good and bad side effects is a good tool to use.
My endocrinologist friend advised me on the keto diet, and my health actually improved and my weight dropped, but it is not suitable in every case; it is better to consult with your doctor.
Hi Dina, What can I say? Each PWN has a slightly different neurological "makeup' that means that one thing works for someone but not another. I believe that the key is to learn as much as possible and choose the most reliable sources then try what seems right. No guarantees. My ex was into vitamins, supplements, alternative healthcare stuff; she helped me a lot in things I would normally disregard.
So, coffee and pop-tarts are NOT a good breakfast!
