I have AuDHD, sleep apnea and narcolepsy 2. I’m the wife of a go-getter, a mom of two toddler boys and stepmom to two teens and a preteen with conduct disorder. I am trying to build as business as an entrepreneur and help my husband build a business on the side as well. We also have a 47 acre farm. I’m miserable… who can help?

First, just take a breath — what you're carrying is genuinely a lot, and feeling overwhelmed makes complete sense. You're not failing; you're running on a very depleted tank while managing an incredibly full life.

For narcolepsy type 2 specifically, a sleep specialist (somnologist) should be your first port of call. They can coordinate care and ensure your treatments aren't working against each other.

A strong care team might include:

- Sleep specialist — to manage narcolepsy and optimize treatment
- Neurologist — particularly one familiar with narcolepsy and its overlapping conditions
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) — CBT has shown real benefits for people with narcolepsy, helping manage sleep patterns, anxiety, and cataplexy triggers
- Psychiatrist — to help coordinate any medications across your conditions Some practical lifestyle habits recommended for narcolepsy that could genuinely help given your demanding schedule:

- Stick to a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends
- Take short, strategic naps when sleepiness peaks
- Exercise at least 20 minutes daily (even light movement counts)
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, or heavy meals close to bedtime
- Create a cool, comfortable sleep environment
- Build in wind-down time before bed

The most important step right now is finding a sleep specialist who truly understands narcolepsy type 2. Don't settle for someone who doesn't — you deserve a doctor who gets it. 💙
