Automatic behavior is when your doing something and go into REM for a period ,when you come out, you can’t remember what you did, even though you still keep walking and talking. I had something similar or it was what you are explaining it came at a time in my life when stress was high my sleep schedule was not being followed then the problem in my life was resolved and this cleared for me back to my normal narcolepsy

Yes, automatic behavior for me has gotten really bad in the last few years. I had to leave my career because between the automatic behavior and my hallucinations I had trouble knowing what was real and not real and screwing up documentation with automatic behavior. I have gotten my self on a more consistent sleep schedule with scheduled naps and that has seemed to cut down on the automatic behavior

I ask Dr. this and he increased medication enough to keep me from dozing off. It helped because it made the hallucinations alot easier to explain to myself. I found out my BiPolar meds were messing up my thinking also. Life seems to have gotten much better. I write notes to myself so l can rely more on events that affect me.
