Several members highlighted the importance of open communication, with many sharing how they inform coworkers, teachers, bus drivers, and even students about their condition, which not only creates supportive environments but also helps educate others and break down stereotypes. Practical tools mentioned included music playlists to regulate energy levels throughout the day, medication reminder apps, travel medical holders, and noise-canceling headphones, alongside encouragement to see specialists like neurologists or sleep doctors for proper treatment.

Having a sleep schedule where I got to bed and wake up at roughly the same time every day. It sounds stupid but it really helps me.

Not eating anything heavy during the day always makes life a tad easier. Carbs make me crash no matter what. I wait till I'm home and done all of my tasks for the day before I sit down for a meal.

What works for me is taking an entire weekend to rest. I stay home, in bed, no meds abd just allow myself to fall in and out of sleep as needed. I don't know if this will work for everyone. But it does help me. Im always tired. Some mornings more tired than when i went to bed the night before. By the end of the week I am so happy because i know fir the next two days im not required to get up and clock in to work!

I try to be in bed by 10pm and get up at 7am! I have lived with Narcolepsy since elementary school, wasn’t diagnosed until my teens, and struggled with learning how to retain information. I was put on medication and that really helped. I became an RN. and then a public Health Nurse and then 2 more years at university and obtained my degree in nursing and worked in many different areas.
