Does anyone know if we are being prescribed name brand vs generic due to our insurance OR is it the prescribing doctor who makes the decision? I didn't realize how much difference there actually is!! I recall in the past being prescribed both. Up until just lately, I thought they were actually 2 different types of medications! Guess not!?! Sooo much to be learned! Very eye opening (no narc. pun intended lol) very helpful info!

I also took the generic modifinil for Provigil and after about 8 months it’s benefit seemed to be gone it was like I was taking a sugar pill then I got moved to name brand and it was like a light switch being turned on way better than the generic ever dared to be. Then 3 months ago CVS had problems getting it so I got switched to neuvigil and it did good but at its peek it was short lived and dropped off. So now we are back to provigil.

If it's the same as Modafinil...?... I was told to take 2 pills daily, at the same time, when I wake up. Not sure if all Dr.'s use this dosing though. That would be a question for your doctor.
