It's always bad but it's usually about the same intensity. I mean we can start to move a little with enormous effort, or we can make a little noise by trying to scream or we can blink or move our eyes and hopefully a spouse notices and will shake you to wake u up. Even prayer when we see the "demonic" entity. We can see that our struggles are starting to work. We are breaking free. Then when we wake up we feel a little better and a little less afraid of the next encounter. BUT (I suspect many ofโ€ฆ read more

Thank God for Love and Support of Family. You need family to help you through the real tuff times when you get frustrated and feel like throwing in the towel.๐Ÿต๐Ÿ˜‡

Absolutely keep searching for a sleep specialist who will help you!!! Because of my medication tolerance situation I had been prescribed everything available (at the time 1990's) I went (thank God) on disability in early 2000's. Then a few years ago I had decided to attempt to get back on "something" to help me function to some degree. I was able to get back in touch with the doctor (Pulmonologist) who initially diagnosed/treated me! I was extremely thankful he was even still in practice! Basically the doctor is kind of "starting over" in regards to the medication.I have decided to see a new doctor closer to where I live. I have my 1st appointment in June I'm excited to see a doctor who specializes in Narcolepsy. So we shall see how it goes.
I very much hope that you find the help you're looking for. Best of luck to you!

I actually can't get meds from a doctor. I was diagnosed in the 90s and quit taking my meds a few years later in favor of over the counter meds. Plus I was young and stupid and didn't think they would help me. All I cared about was making sleep paralysis stop. When I figured out they couldn't help me with that I gave up. A few years ago I tried to get back on them and I can't locate any records because it wasn't computerized then. Doctor out me through the whole cycle again and started making me use a CPAP. This made sleeping even more difficult. After a year I couldn't take it and stopped and the doctor won't do a damn thing for me because I refused the treatment he gave me
