Members with narcolepsy type 2 responded to the question about dreaming frequency with a wide range of experiences, from rarely dreaming at all to having vivid, exhausting dreams almost every night that sometimes blur the line between dream and reality. Several members shared that vivid dreaming, sleep hallucinations, and night terrors are hallmark symptoms of narcolepsy, with some finding relief through medications like Prazosin, Nuvigil, or Modafinil, while others chose to remain unmedicated due to difficult side effects from drugs like Adderall or ropinirole. A recurring theme was the spiritual and emotional significance members found in their dream lives, with some viewing dreams as meaningful messages and others simply navigating the confusion and fatigue that intense REM sleep can bring.

Adderall will cause brain damage, so try Modafinil if you can

Hi Reggie, I have type 1. I am unmedicated. I dream all the time. Whether sleeping, going into microsleep or entering REM whilst awake (alternative sleep/alternative dreaming). I was told a regular person gets approximately fifteen percent REM in the early hours of the morning. Whereas we can get up to sixty percent REM across the twenty four hours. At the sleep clinic the data showed that I was in and out of REM constantly during the day. Have a good day, Hugs

I definitely had a horrible adverse reaction to Adderall. It was such a scary experience. 😩

Aw ok. I take no meds. I'm use to how my body responds to narcolepsy so I choose no meds. I've tried meds once and had terrible side effects in 2016 so I been quit trying meds. I took ropinirole(bad side effects). they prescribed me methylphenidate but I never took it I flushed it down the toliet
