I would pretty much say that to them. Even the sentiment may count for a lot.
Thank you. I really appreciate you responding to my question . It’s pretty a complicated condition as you know. Is there any medication, practice or belief that works for you?
I am a 43 yr old with Type 1 Narcolepsy, and my mom is amazing. I count on her for so much.
My advice to you is to just ask what you can do to help, ask what they need from you and it sounds like you have a really good and supportive attitude, but I'm saying this for the benefit of everyone- keep in mind that we can't control when sleep attacks happen. Sometimes, we have to miss things we want to be present for, or ask for help when it's really hard for us to do that. Just being there and being understanding means the world to someone with this disease. So it sounds like you're on the right track already. Best wishes to you both 🫶🏼
I applaud you for wanting to help! I wish more people cared ❤️ the best thing anyone has ever done for me is encourage me to nap and not shame me for having to sit out of things. That helps me more than anything!
