Dexedrine works better for me than Adderall. I've tried quite a few other medications over the last 19 years, but Dexedrine ER spansules have worked far better than anything else. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that I'm allergic to Modafinil & Armodafinil. I take 30mg as soon as I wake up & another 30mg usually 4-6 hours later. By 6PM, the effects of the meds are usually starting to wear off, which is a problem because my work days frequently last several hours into the evening. When addressed with my sleep doc, he prescribed combining my daytime Dexedrine with Wakix at night & barely noticed a difference. I also tried Xyrem in conjunction with the Dexedrine....same results as with the Wakix. Upping my dose of Dexedrine is a risky option due to a heavy presence of major cardiac issues in my immediate family. I would rather my heart not explode any time soon, so I nixed that option too. It sucks, but I don't see any other choice but to make it through one day at a time doing as much as my body will allow & accept that some days are worse than others & some are better.

Ive been on adderall for 12 years and noticed it seemed to quit working as effectively. Researched Baclofen and brought the idea to my sleep dr.. Taking 40mg nightly, sleep is better and adderall is working better. Ive also found TMS therapy to help my narcolepsy. My treatment is for depression bc narcolepsy is still being studied re: TMS but its something to research.

Armodafanil and wakix

I have adderall but much prefer armodafinil I take that everyday and it will run out before my next Rx On busy days I take 1.5 Armani I function fairly well and if it m busy into evening, I supplement with adderal on afternoons especially if in forced to go out in the evening which I try hard to avoid Adderall doesn't last and I can fall asleep easily when I take it 500 mgs of armodafinil would be great but my insurance pushes back Ive been offered waxix but live alone so wont touch it I absolutely cannot nap during the day if I fall asleep and can’t get up!!!
