I take 40 MG of Adderall XR twice a day and have been for a long time. Now my morning dose isn't always effective sometimes for 2-3 hours ornot at all. The 2nd dose still does ok. I can't continue to live like this and my sleep Dr didn't pay any attention and just made me an appt for next year!! I'm so frustrated.
I have been on Dexadrine(ER, 15 mg.) during the day,for years and it works well for me and if I have a evening activity ,I take a 5mg at 2p.m. to get through the p.m. !
Has anyone experienced falling asleep between doses of Adderall? When my Adderall is in its highest effectiveness time it works. But my narcoleptic symptoms have become worse at other times. My psychiatrist says this is a clue pointing t word diagnosis.
I uncontrollably fall asleep.
I had to stop the Adderall for a couple weeks ( i tapered first ) and my tolerance went down and it started working again.
When I was first diagnosed beginning of high school, my doctor had me try a couple different treatments. One of them was Ritalin, but I was wary of pills and didn't want to go that route. College has really been testing my limits, and I'm starting to fall behind. Do stimulants help any of you guys? Which kinds help the most? Do side effects outweigh the pros? Thank you!
I basically live off energy drinks to keep me awake... but honestly I feel like it’s more of a placebo effect than the caffeine doing the job. Now I have kidney stones! So, obviously, energy drinks are BAD. I don’t know what else to do! I’m already on modafinil, but it doesn’t seem to be very effective.
For me, Coffee does nothing at all for me ( as far as keeping me awake). I could drink multiple cups and feel nothing. I usually just drink it for the taste ( with creamer) added of course. But I've… read more

I’ve been taking 15mg of adderall 3 times a day. Most of the time it works, I just hate the crash at the end of the day and I feel like it changes my personality. My Dr. Called in Sunosi but my pharmacy has to order it. She says I can just take Sunosi and stop adderal. Has anyone tried this? I’m afraid I’ll have adderal withdrawal. I’m afraid it won’t work. Neither modafinil or armodifinl worked for me. I hate figuring out what works to keep me awake during the day. Any advise is greatly… read more
First, consider this: your modafinal and armodafinal failed because it didn't give you the clarity and sharpness you were expecting. Perhaps your expectations were assigned incorrectly!

Does anyone take adderall for their narcolepsy? I have been it it for years, taking adderall 30 XR in the morning and adderall 20 IR in the afternoon. I was informed a couple of days ago that no pharmacies around have any adderall in stock. My doctor called me in Ritalin 30 mg for me and I can’t tell that I have taken anything at all…I could go to sleep right this minute. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Has anyone else figured out that they had narcolepsy before their doctors? I always have trouble getting my doctors to truly listen to what I’m saying, and for them to not say that EVERYTHING wrong with me is because of my anxiety/mental health. No one would listen, so I talked to my psychiatrist and told HIM I was pretty sure I had it, told him my symptoms... HE referred me to a sleep specialist, I did the studies, and now it’s confirmed. I’m 32. I’ve been having symptoms since I was a kid. 8th… read more

I have been taking adderal for a good 15 years. The highest does and is not helping. I took adderal originally for adhd. But it doesn’t seem to work anymore. Do you have any suggestions?
I have read many stories online of people doing well on Nuvigil for awhile, but then as time goes on having to add a "booster" medication halfway through the day. I want to know if I should expect this, or not. Has anyone been on Nuvigil for a long time with no decrease in effectiveness? Some sources also suggest taking a couple days off the medicine to curb resistance. Has anyone had experience with that?
